Gua Sha Facial Tools
Gua sha aims to move energy, known as qi or chi, around the body. The treatment involves using a tool to rub the skin in long strokes. Gua sha gives your skin a lymphatic massage, eliminating toxins, reducing puffiness and boosting blood circulation. The origins go back centuries, used in forms of traditional Chinese medicine treatments. For skin, they help your oils and serums penetrate the skin more deeply, and help the skin look plumper, and more toned.
How to: Use daily for maximum benefit, at least three times a week. Apply your favourite oil, serum or moisturiser to your skin using your hands. Take your gua sha, and holding at a 45 degree angle to your skin, gently 'scrap' in an upward and outwards direction over your face and neck, following the pathways of your lymphatic system (see diagram/image). Only very light pressure is needed. The longest side is designed for use on the face and neck area, while the smaller V shape can be used along the jaw line and brow bone. Due to natural formations in the stones, each gua sha will be unique and vary in size and color from the picture shown. To clean, sanitise with alcohol.
