Skin Care
Plant-based, organic, natural skincare. From the soil to the skin.
The Janesce botanical skincare range is supported by a holistic philosophy of skin health and total wellness, and deliver concentrated plant extracts for naturally beautiful skin.
“At Janesce, we believe your skin is a reflection of your life. Uncover your natural glow with powerful plant-based skincare products and skin nutrition strategies." - Janine Tait, Janesce New Zealand
The plants used in Janesce Skincare are grown at Claret Ash Farm – a biodynamic, organic garden in the Adelaide Hills. Janesce founder, Janice-Sarre Smith, lovingly oversees the garden and lab. The potent plant extracts are left to mature in the lab for years like a fine wine, a rare practice in botanical skincare.

Cleansers
Cleanse once at the end of the day, to remove pollution & makeup built up from that day. Use a cream, oil or lotion cleanser. Oil cleansers are great at helping to dissolve stubborn makeup. Skin soaking is more than adequate to cleanse the skin in the morning, followed by your moisturising routine.
We avoid foaming cleansers (including the 'gentle' and 'low foam' cleansers) as they strip the skin. Foaming cleansers, soaps and anti-septic washes generally have a pH of around 8-10. This is too alkaline for the skin! Many people choose a foaming or ‘purifying’ cleanser for acne or oily skin. Please don’t! Instead, learn why & how to care for your oily skin to get rid of acne and excess oil.
Our Janesce Rose Cleanser is pH balanced for the skin, supporting your skin barrier function. Yes, we still need to cleanse our skins – but gently!

Soaking Drops
The Janesce Skin Soaking ritual is a gentle way to hydrate the upper layers of your skin. The warm water also relaxes the pores which encourages the easy absorption of plant extracts and lotions. The fragrant botanical soaking drops and deep breathing makes this a beautiful, well-being ritual for morning and evening.

Floral Mist
Using a floral mist to lightly mist your skin while it is still damp assists hydration. The blend of organic herbs and floral extracts also conditions the skin. An important piece of the puzzle, before applying your serums and moisturisers.
Mist directly onto clean damp skin, or spray 1-2 times into damp palms and press onto the skin. Can be used over makeup and other products throughout day. The Janesce Soothing Mist is our first aid for hot, inflamed or itchy skin. Mist onto the skin at least four times daily until the skin feels better.

Treatment & Serums
Janesce concentrates and serums are high-powered plant therapy. They restore, regenerate and enliven your skin. Created from organic herb and floral extracts, they naturally absorb into the layers of your skin to boost healthy skin function. They are the medicine for the skin.
For the Janesce herbal concentrates, apply 2-3 drops to damp pre-soaked skin. Unless you have been instructed to do so by a professional, don’t use more than one serum. This can cause reactions if the combined products don’t work together, or if they are too strong when combined.

Moisturiser
You MUST soak your skin first. Apply a very small amount of concentrated cream, lotion or facial oil to your damp skin. Follow with Suncare Lotion.
It's important to choose a moisturiser that will LOCK IN the hydration of your skin. Otherwise what's the point in soaking! It is essential in keeping the skin hydrated and protected. Janesce creams are highly concentrated and contain less water than other skin care products. For this reason the moisturising process is divided into two steps; the water phase (soak and mist) and the concentrated cream phase (moisturise).
Lower quality and drugstore moisturisers often contain higher contents of water. We know how important it is to keep your skin hydrated; but putting water on top of water does not lock it in. Sometimes these moisturisers also contain low amounts of active ingredients, and may not be doing much of anything for your skin despite saying “contains amazing and/or trending ingredient”.

Facial Oils
Janesce facial oils are gentle, plant-based oils that help to repair and strengthen a weakened skin barrier. They are used in the Hypersensitive and Hypersensitive Plus skincare routines instead of a Janesce moisturiser.
Warm your 2-3 drops of facial oil into your hands first, then press onto your soaked skin. You can massage it in slowly, take a few deep breaths and add in a few pressure points for a little pamper. Otherwise just press it all in, and on your soaked and hydrated skin it should absorb beautifully!

Sun Care
Sun damage is the main cause of skin ageing. The Janesce unique blend of particular herbs, flower extracts and nut butter is rich in anti-oxidants, which counteract free radicals caused by sun exposure. In addition, the shea butter acts as a natural sun filter. This product is a progressive treatment. Over time your skin will show less sensitivity to the effects of the sun, and the effect will slow premature ageing.
Use Janesce Suncare Lotion every day, as a progressive treatment to protect your skin from the damaging effects of the sun. EVERY DAY – even in winter, and even when it’s not sunny. Your SPF will go on top of this when necessary.

Exfoliant
Like over cleansing, over exfoliating can strip the skin and do more harm than good. A healthy, hydrated skin won’t feel the need to exfoliate as often. Be gentle, and don’t scrub so hard! Apply a small amount to damp skin. Gently press Gentle Clearing Wash or massage Gentle Enzyme Peel into your skin. Leave for two minutes and remove with warm water and a cloth.
Janesce exfoliants use active plant-based ingredients to naturally refine skin. Many exfoliants include harsh chemicals or rough substances to remove dead skin cells. While they might leave your skin feeling clean and clear in the short-term, they can do real damage to the skin’s protective skin barrier – potentially setting up inflammation and prematurely ageing the skin. Janesce exfoliants are different. They remove dead skin cells and renew skin with fruit enzymes and plant ingredients, without disrupting the skin’s natural protection.

Mask
Face masks are the perfect skin care treatment to help you with your skin care concerns. The right face mask can help hydrate skin, rebalance oils and help improve the appearance your skin texture. They're also an excellent way to enjoy a little bit of self care at home.
The Janesce masks are concentrated blends of plant oils and extracts that feed and nourish the skin. They are very fine-textured, enabling them to penetrate into the skin and offer a boost of nutrients to freshen and enliven the skin.

For Baby
Babies have delicate skin and most times don't need skin care. But when they do, it's important to choose one that heals and supports baby's skin naturally.
Our Janesce Soothing Mist is like natural first aid. It's great for red, hot or itchy skin - including cradle cap and nappy rash. The Janesce Avocado & Sesame Oil is an excellent barrier or moisturiser for babies skin - use 1 pump in the bath, or on the bum for neutral barrier and easier nappy change.
Don't forget Mum! Perhaps a spa gift voucher for when she's ready?
